It’s the exciting month of Ramadan, again. Last year we curated a list of 31 restaurants where you can break your fast, and this year we are back in 2019 with 40+ places to have iftar. I’m sure your tummy is growling, so let’s get started:
The Great Chase – Clerkenwell Rd, Islington
This Ramadan at the top of our list is honestly one of our favourite places to dine. Whether it’s a casual day out or for a romantic evening date, the Great Chase is fully alcohol-free, has an award-winning dry bar and serve deliciously fantastic food. The waiters are full of knowledge on how the food has been prepared and are always ready to give recommendations on how to pair your dishes with the perfect drink. If you visit only one restaurant this Ramadan, make sure it’s The Great Chase.

Burger UK – Camden
Burger UK is perhaps the most underrated halal burger joint in London. The friendly faces behind Burger UK always give you a warm welcome. We visited this place numerous amounts of time, again and again, it has never disappointed. Everything from the truffle fries to the chicken strips is worth it. Burger UK serves free-range meat and is alcohol-free. The burger joint is small, and they do not take bookings. To ensure you get a seat, call before visiting. If you are a large group, I would call days in advance.
Note: Show that you follow them on Instagram (@burgeruk.london) and get a beef or chicken burger, fries or onion rings with a drink for £10 during Iftar time in Ramadan.

Harlem Soul (Formerly Boondocks) – City Road
The feed your soul family of restaurants has been an enormous success around London. Boondocks has rebranded into Harlem Soul. The same people still own it, but instead, they have changed their approach. They are serving Urban American cuisine to the streets of London. You can read our review about Harlem Soul.

The Meat Co. – Shepherds Bush
The Meat Co. sets the standards of what a good steak should be. For a fun night out during Ramadan, The Meat Co. is the right place to be.

Fatboyz! A burger joint in Ilford
Fatboyz is an affordable choice, especially if you live around East London. Break your fast with some tasty burgers, shakes and desserts. You can read our review of Fatboyz.

Maison Du Mezze – Leicester Square
Maison Du Mezze serves excellent Lebanese food. Located in Leicester Square are doing an iftar menu. The restaurant with a red carpet for every guest, outdoor seating and the swanky interior is a great night out for a group of friends, family and couples. The iftar menu is from £25 per person. Brioche Burger – Walthamstow
Are you looking for a good burger? Brioche Burger in Walthamstow is your place to stop by. Last few previous years they were also known for serving suhoor. Check them out for a casual iftar of burgers and mocktails. Read our review on Brioche Burger.

People have mentioned that if you’re looking for a burger that never disappoints, Proper Burger is the spot.
Note: Proper Burgers opening hours for Ramadan will be closed for the first two weeks of Ramadan and then business as usual for the remaining duration of Ramadan. Proper Burgers closed on Mondays.

Perfect for an iftar out of the house with a loved one. Mango Tree is a fine dining restaurant, located in Belgravia serving Thai cuisine. However, it is on the pricey side. The menu is partially halal.
Note:This Ramadan they have group offers. Book for 4 and pay for 3 people OR book for 6 and pay for 5 people. It is important to note that you will need to book in advance and quote ‘Ramadan’ to redeem the offer.
The offer is from Monday to Thursday and has a fixed Ramadan menu.

Red Iron Burger – Uxbridge
If you want a proper gourmet burger, located in Uxbridge is Red Iron Burger. Thick patties, skin on fries and great shakes. Red Iron is a place to try. Read our review on Red Iron Burger.

Hankies Cafe is an Indian cafe with excellent tapas style meals. Watch the chef toss, turn and hand spin the roti into the air as they prepare your meal. This cafe gets busy during the evenings. You can read our review about Hankies Cafe.

Beef and Birds – Brick Lane
Beef and Birds are relatively new, located in Brick Lane. One of the owners, Sultan, is passionate when it comes to food and flavours. Beef and Birds brings to you slow-cooked ribs, gourmet burgers, BBQ dark chocolate wings and more. Read our two-part review on Beef and Birds.

We have heard a lot of good reviews on Guanabana and thought it should make this list. Guanabana is a rustic wooden cafe serving Eclectic Latin and Caribbean dishes. Guanabana also has special menu items for Ramadan like Feta and Honey cheesecake kanafeh and keema nachos.

Tarshish Mediterranean Grill
Tarshish is a Turkis and Mediterranean restaurant. A casual contemporary dining place best enjoyed at night: a candlelit table and exceptional service.

HS&Co is an elegantly sophisticated restaurant serving grilled halal Irish beef, seasonal small plates and afternoon tea.

A small minority of China are Muslim and have been practising for the last 1,400 years. In China known as Uyghurs – A Muslim minority who have been battling against China to keep their presence. Etles Uyghur brings the hidden culture from China to London, with hearty homemade and filling food.

A Lebanese chain located around the UK – whether it be Uber Eats or in the restaurant – Comptoir Libanais is an excellent choice for iftar when you’re out shopping for Eid.
BIRD has massive chicken burgers as well as chicken and waffles. Halal chicken is served at all branches and verified with certificates. Halal food is cooked separately to non-halal foods.
They are serving Syrian, Lebanese, and Morrocan cuisine in an upscale restaurant. For Ramadan, they have an offer for £30 a welcome drink, dates, soup, appetisers, mains, dessert and a hot drink. Yasmeen also has a prayer space available.

Honey and Smoke
For a classy Middle Eastern iftar, Honey and Smoke are offering a shared selection of starters, mains, desserts and a hot drink for £45 per person.

Sometimes all you want is a burger, fries, some wings and a shake. Fat Burger is a franchise which came from the United States to London. With two branches located in Wembley and Camden, it’s a place for a quick munch for iftar. Check out our review on Fat Burger.

Chiquen – Wood Green
A Nandos alternative in Wood Green – Located next to Cineworld cinema in the shopping mall. An attractive place to visit when shopping for Eid and iftar time approaches. There are also local mosques nearby for prayer.

If you are looking for value for money and a hearty meal, Pie Factory is here. £8.95 for an iftar platter. Pie Factory located in Ilford and Whitechapel. Make sure to reserve your table!

Chai Naasto: A colourful, timber-clad joint offering Indian grub, curries, roti, kebabs, samosas, salads and veggies. This Ramadan they have an iftar menu, £30 per person which includes dates or a fruit salad, starters, mains and a drink.

Teaze Burger Joint
Teaze Burger Joint is a reasonably young joint located in Stepney Green. Chicken, burgers and fries served at Teaze come with unique flavouring what seems to be inspired by an Asian cultural background. Read our review about Teaze.

This place is tiny but popular. A place to have chicken and waffles, a juicy burger, popcorn shrimp and milkshake. This small American diner style restaurant located in Kingly Court is great when you’re out shopping for Eid in Oxford St. Read our review on Stax Diner.

Beit El Zaytoun is a Lebanese restaurant with stunning riverside views. An iftar menu will be served here for £26 per person — a minimum of two guests required for this offer.

Ramo Ramen honestly is one of the best places serving halal ramen located in Kentish Town, Camden. Everything from the broth of the ramen to the noodles made with love in this place. The restaurant setting sets the mood for a great night. Read our review about Ramo Ramen, an entirely halal menu!

Buns and Buns
Buns and Buns is the newest addition to Covent Garden. They are featuring lobster, Chilean ribeye sandwiches, lobster rolls and boa buns. Buns and Buns are partially halal and on the pricey side but offer excellent service and good food in an Instagrammable marble and bronze decor place.

The Lebanese Bakery
The Lebanese bakery has many different types of flatbreads. We like to think of it as a Middle Eastern pizza — everything from sujuk, spinach and eggs to delicious sweet flatbreads. The bakery is quite small with limited spacing, but the food is hearty and filling.

ZeeZain Indian Cuisine
Located in the lavish parts of London, South Kensington – ZeeZain serves Indian cuisine. Featuring a sophisticated interior and excellent customer service.

Funky Burgoo is a new place located on Kilburn High Road. Funky Burgoo does fries, shakes, fantastic chicken wings, beef burgers, buttermilk chicken burgers and best of all chicken with waffles and halal bacon! The retro burger joint, Funky Burgoo, even has a small corner with a Sega controller and Sonic on a retro TV. Across the wall is plastered with tapes, 90s cartoon shows and skateboards.

Hot stone Angel
In Chapel Market, Hot Stone Angel is a sushi bar where you can also cook your food on a hot stone plate. They are not halal but have a lot of seafood on the menu.

Grounded Coffee Company
Grounded Coffee Company serves breakfast all day from egg benedict, full English to pasties and delicious coffee. An excellent place to break your fast, with an actual breakfast. The menu is fully halaal.

Zelman Meats in Harvey Nichols
Zelman Meats in Harvey Nichols is fully halal. People have been saying they have the best steaks around, cooked to a medium-rare, this place is worth the visit whether you’re breaking fast after a day or shopping or after Ramadan.

China Tang at The Dorchester
The luxury restaurant located in The Dorchester hotel serves a Chinese Asian Cantonese cuisine. A chic setting designed to evoke Shanghai from the 1930s. An attractive place for a candlelit iftar – They have a separate halal menu but will also cater to custom requests.
